GREGG DEAL (Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe) Artist-Activist  as been a regular guest on “First Voices Radio.”

Over the years, he and Host Tiokasin Ghosthorse have dissected many critical issues — cultural appropriation, decolonization, the continuing use of Native mascots and stereotypes, and even the annual spectacle Burning Man. On this edition “First Voices Radio” presents “Indigenous Identity and Existence – Fighting Erasure and Racism,” a talk that GREGG delivered at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 26, 2018. GREGG’s art includes paintings, mural work, performance art, filmmaking and the spoken word. Much of his work deals with Indigenous identity and pop culture, and he touches on issues of race relations, historical consideration, and stereotype. GREGG’s art has been exhibited nationally. He also has lectured at many prominent educational institutions and museums, including: The Denver Art Museum (CO); Dartmouth College (NH); Columbia University (NYC); and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC.
