Host Tiokasin Ghosthorse welcomes Michelle Schenandoah, Executive Producer of a new half-hour film, “An Indigenous Response to #MeToo.” Michelle is an inspirational writer, speaker and thought leader. She is a member of the Oneida Indian Nation Wolf Clan of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. Michelle is taking her expertise to create a new Indigenous women’s online media platform, Rematriation Magazine, as well as focusing on community development and leadership for Native American women and their communities. She and her husband, Neal Powless, founded Indigenous Concepts Consulting to incorporate Indigenous perspective into mainstream culture to raise a new consciousness in existing business paradigms. Michelle served as an economic and governance strategist for Native American nations with Blue Stone Strategy Group, and has an extensive background in law, business and taxation.  In the second half-hour, Tiokasin speaks with Lori Jump. Lori, who is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, is the Assistant Director of the StrongHearts Native Helpline. She brings a wealth of tribal advocacy experience to StrongHearts having worked for 25-plus years as the Program Manager of the Advocacy Resource Center (ARC), a comprehensive victim services program for Sault Tribe, providing advocacy, shelter and civil legal representation for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Lori is also a founding member and former Executive Director of Uniting Three Fires Against Violence. Uniting Three Fires is Michigan’s tribal coalition that provides training, technical assistance and resources to support tribal programs in responding to domestic and sexual violence.
